Half day city tour
The tour of Brasília starts along the wide avenues with no crossing streets and few traffic lights. Many trees , flowers and green areas. The “tesourinhas” (little scissors’) designed by the urbanist Lucio Costa to substitute the crossing streets. Places included on the tour are: Chapel of Our Lady of Fátima, inaugurated in 1958, designed by Oscar Niemeyer; the residential Super Block with six floors buildings built over columns; Sanctuary of Dom Bosco, one of the most beautiful catholic churches of Brasilia; Urban Military Sector, where our Army Head Quarter stands; Juscelino’s Kubitschek Museum and Mausoleum (outside view, entrance fee not included); Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of Aparcecida, Oscar Niemeyer’s project; Ministries Esplanade; Palace of Itamaraty; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (outside view); Three Powers Square and Palace of Planalto (outside view).
