Suggested Itinerary – 10 Days / 9 Nights:

 

Day 1 – RIO DE JANEIRO 

Arrival at the airport and private transfer to the chosen hotel. On the way to the hotel, our local guide will present the city and give important information and tips.

Check in and rest day of leisure. We recommend a bike tour around the beaches and the lagoon.

 

Day 2 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and departure to a Half Day tour at Botanical Garden & Tijuca Forest by Jeep (regular tour). The Botanical Garden, created in 1817 by the king D.João IV, bound for the culture of exotic plants brought from all over the world, is a unique park due to the variety of species.  The Tijuca Atlantic Forest is one of the largest urban forests in the world. The tour will stop at the Chinese View belvedere with a magnificent view of the Ipanema and Copacabana beaches, the Guanabara Bay and the Sugar Loaf. Return to hotel and leisure time.

In the evening, the passenger will have an unique experience at Feira de São Cristóvão (Private tour). This space is a traditional center of northeastern Brazilian culture. Typical Cuisine, music and handicraft, a special travel to other parts of the country without leaving Rio de Janeiro. Return to the hotel overnight.

 

Day 3 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and leisure day to enjoy the city and the beach.

 

Day 4 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and departure to a Half Day Walking Tour by Metro (Private tour). Our guide will meet the passenger at the hotel reception and walk to the subway. The passenger will be taken back to the past with legends and stories around the narrow streets and old historical buildings of Downtown Rio. The walking tour includes many interesting points such as Selaron Stairs, Candelaria church, Praça XV square, the “Travessa do Mercado” alley, Paço Imperial museum, the cultural center located in the beautifully restored Banco do Brasil building, the Casa França-Brasil museum and others. We recommend a stop for lunch at Confeitaria Colombo. Return to the hotel by metro and leisure time.

In the evening, enjoy the Lapa area by night (Private tour), where the real carioca spirit of bohemian life can be felt. The tour starts at a typical Brazilian barbecue restaurant. Then continue to Rio Scenarium, an antique shop during the day and a live music bar during the night, one of the most amazing places to listen to good samba music. Return to the hotel overnight.

 

Day 5 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and leisure day to enjoy the city.

Day 6 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and departure to a Full Day tour Petrópolis (Private tour). The city of Petrópolis is located 60 km away from Rio and it is called the Imperial City, since the Emperor Pedro II, enchanted by its fresh climate and beauty, bought a large property in 1830. Settled by the Germans, Petrópolis keeps the memory of Brazilian history with its buildings and charming streets. This tour starts with the visit to the Imperial Museum which has been the summer residence of the emperor D. Pedro II and that keeps furniture and objects such as the crown of gold, pearls and diamonds used by the royalty. The tour will continue to the Gothic Cathedral where Princess Isabel was buried along with the tombstones of D. Pedro II and his wife and then the Crystal Palace, built in France and mounted in Brazil, destined to shelter exhibitions and great parties promoted by Princess Isabel. Return to Rio de Janeiro and evening at leisure, overnight.

 

Day 7 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and departure for a tour at the West part of Rio. Visit the Sítio Roberto Burle Marx, a center dedicated to research of landscaping, botanical and conservation of nature. It is recognized as one of the most important collections of living plants in the world. A stop for lunch is made and the guide can recommend a nice seafood restaurant in the area. After lunch, the tour will continue to Casa do Pontal Museum which is the most significant museum of Popular Art in the country. The collection of 8500 artworks represents different regions and cultural groups in Brazil. We also recommend a helicopter flight over the city, departing from the heliport in the area. Return to the hotel. and evening at leisure, overnight.

 

Day 8 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast at hotel and departure to a Half Day tour to Corcovado with a stop for Fruit Tasting. From many places in the city, the visitor can see the most beautiful postcard of Rio de Janeiro since 1931: Christ the Redeemer statue located at Corcovado Mountain, 710 meters above the sea level. After the Corcovado, the guide will take the passengers to a traditional open street market. These markets are quite popular, and are where most of the locals go to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Depending on the season, a variety of exotic fruits can be found, such as graviola, atemoia, passion fruit, star fruit, jabuticaba, caqui, mandarin, cashew and many others.  The tasting will happen at the spot, in the stalls of the best vendors and the guide will present and talk about the fruits. Return to hotel and leisure time.

Day 9 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast in the morning at leisure. In the afternoon, depart for the visit at SugarLoaf, with the chance to admire the most beautiful sunset. The visit is made in two steps by cable car. The first cable car takes passengers to Urca Hill, which is 215 meters high and from where one can have a beautiful view from the Guanabara Bay and its islands, the Rio-Niterói bridge and Corcovado hill. From this stage, a second cable car will be taken up to the top with 395 meters to find a splendid view from Copacabana beach, the Santa Cruz fortress and some beaches of Niterói. Return to hotel and balance the day at leisure, overnight.

 

Day 10 – RIO DE JANEIRO

Breakfast and check out. Private transfer to the airport.
