In Pernambuco, among the arid plains of the São Francisco valley, it is one of the strangest viticulture projects in the world. This unique area of tropical production on the banks of the São Francisco River, thanks to huge irrigation and sun pumps all year round, has yielded high quality wines. With 12 hours of sunlight a day, for 300 days a year, and a warm and lush atmosphere, winemakers are able to harvest every month. The absence of winter means that the vines never stop producing, allowing producers to enjoy multiple harvests from different plots. Its production is already the second largest in the country. Petrolina is located 715 from Recife.

Day 1 – Thursday
Arrival, reception and transfer to selected hotel. At a time to be arranged, departure for dinner (meat, beans, rice, vinaigrette, cassava, puree, water and dessert) or optional by the menu, in the gastronomic complex called “Bodódromo”, with live music. The “Bodódromo”, in Petrolina, is the largest open-air gastronomic complex in Latin America, famous for serving the best mutton or goat meat. There, we can enjoy the main dish of the region: (roast lamb or goat or stew) as well as other varieties of meat, fish and snacks. The venue is located on Avenida São Francisco, which also has an area for shows, kiosks and snack bars. Return to the hotel at a convenient time for passengers (NOTE: this dinner schedule will be for customers arriving on the afternoon flights).

Day 2 – Friday

Morning – City Tour – Historical and cultural tour between Petrolina-PE & Juazeiro-BA. The tour goes through the city of Petrolina amidst the Northeastern culture, rescuing and providing contact with the diversity and regional beauty, which maintains in its architectural heritage, works such as the interior museum, artisans shop, border 01 and 02, Ana de Carrancas Centro de Arte, shopping center, legal sectors, health and university, the cathedral. Stop for lunch in a restaurant with regional food based on meat or fish, juice and dessert.

We will visit the “vaporzinho”, 1st steam for navigation in the region of Vale do São Francisco, the artisan house where we can buy souvenirs from the neighborhood, the historic center with its old houses, the cathedral church, located in Praça da Bandeira and Juazeiro waterfront, so that we can appreciate the beauty of the São Francisco River and have a beautiful panoramic view of the bridge that connects the two cities. Late afternoon, on the banks of Juazeiro, we can enjoy a beautiful sunset on the banks of the São Francisco River on board a catamaran on the River Beer tour. Return to the hotel.

Day 3 – Saturday
Breakfast
Departure from the hotel to the Wine Route in Lagoa Grande-PE, 85 km from Petrolina-PE. We will visit the Rio Sol Winery – Santa Maria da Boa Vista, which includes: video, knowledge of the wines, visit to the vineyards, tasting, opportunity to buy wine at the winery, accompanied by the Winery Technician. Afterwards, we will continue on a beautiful catamaran boat trip to the island of Pontal with sparkling wine tasting and a bathing stop. At the main house, a free buffet lunch will be served, accompanied by typical regional foods and good Rio Sol wines. Visit to retail. Return to the hotel in Petrolina-PE. Free night.

Day 4 – Sunday

Departure from Petrolina to the Miolo / Terra Nova Winery. VAPOR DO VINHO. On this tour we will visit the winery farm
that produces Terra Nova wines, with stunning and well-cultivated vineyards to produce the best and most sophisticated wines. The winery is located in the municipality of Casa Nova-BA. Under the semi-arid tropical climate with a high incidence of sun and low rainfall, the vineyards are irrigated by the drip system, similar to that used in other regions of the world. The tour also includes: the winemaker during the tour at the winery, explaining the process since the crushing of the grape, aging of the wine in oak barrels, bottling of wines. Ending the first stage of the tour in the tasting room where we will enjoy the main wines produced by the winery. At the end, the possibility of buying wines and products produced by the winery store. We will continue to the Hydroelectric Dam of Sobradinho –BA, panoramic tour. We will visit the second largest artificial lake in Latin America, a hydroelectric plant located on the São Francisco River, in the municipality of Sobradinho-BA, about 60 km upstream from the cities of Juazeiro / BA and Petrolina / PE. The hydroelectric plant has an installed capacity of 1.05 million KW (1,050mw) and has 6 generating machines. During the boat trip stop for a swim in Fantasy Island where we can enjoy good live music and local cuisine (lunch included), on board the steam of São Francisco. Free night.
