Wonders of Iguassu

More than twice as large as the Niagara Falls and truly one of the most spectacular sites that nature has to offer, the magnificent Iguassu Falls not only divide the powerful Iguazu River, but also separates Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay borders. Comprising 275 separate fallsthat stretch for more than 2 km, many of which are over 60.000m in height, it affords visitors breathtaking panoramic views, particularly from the brazilian side.The Iguassu National Park was established in 1939 and listed by UNESCO as a Natural Heritage of Humanity in 1986. This reserve is located inside a lush tropical rainforest, with a particular rich fauna of over 300 species of birds, including green woodpeckers, birds of prey,toucans and egrets; 44 species of mammals, including tapirs, capybaras, otters and jaguars; and over 1.400 species of butterflies. Besides enjoying the lifetime experience of the falls, during this trip you will also have the chance to visit the Bird Park and the Itaipu Binational Dam.

Brazil Falls walking tour One of the most beautiful natural postcards in the world, Iguaçu Falls are located in Foz do Iguaçu. The Falls, located in the Iguaçu National Park, are considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Created on January 10, 1939 and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986, the Iguaçu National Park is one of the largest forest reserves in South America and important for the protection of the state’s renewable resources. The predominant vegetation type is the subtropical forest and the araucaria forest, with the presence of palm trees, imbúia, caviúna, yerba mate and other species. Staying at the only hotel within the Iguaçu National Park in Brazil, guests can participate in a series of exclusive guided walking tours, before the park opens. Feel the aromas of the forest as you follow the iguanas’ footprints and walk the little-traveled route to the observation platforms of the Falls. Remember to bring your raincoat, the water splashes are spectacular. Along the way, information is provided during a trail of approximately 1,200 meters of easy walking that allows contact with hostcoatis.

Bird Park
Bird Park is a totally new park concept, uniting two ideas: Ecotourism and environmental preservation. The total area of the park is 16.50 Hectares, where 4 are the facilities and the huge bird cages, the other 12.50 are an area of environmental
preservation. Parque das Aves is 8 km from the city center (Foz do Iguaçu), and from 800 meters from the park entrance it is possible to walk an 800 meter trail through the forest, passing through huge cages fully integrated with the forest, normally all visitors they are surprised to realize that it is possible to enter these huge cages, getting very close to all the birds. Inside
these cages it is possible to see native birds, incredibly colorful birds flying and landing near visitors. The birds’ habitatis 630 squaremeters and 8 meters high,so they don’t feel “caged”. There are more than 200 species of birds throughout the park area; such as macaws, hummingbirds, toucans, hawks, macaws (typical Brazilian bird) and even the colorful flamingos.
The veterinarians responsible for the park have developed a new way to make birds have a normal reproductive life when caged. The visitor can also see some reptiles in a large water tank, similar to a small lake; there are some fish,snakes, crocodiles, turtles and some other reptiles. Day 3 – Itaipu Dam

Itaipu Binacional Hydroelectric Visit Considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, Itaipu is the largest hydroelectric plant in the world in terms of power generation. Project carried out jointly between Brazil and
Paraguay that currently generates 90% of the energy consumed in Paraguay and 23% of the energy consumed in Brazil.
Panoramic Visit: panoramic view of the main dam and walk outside the dam with a stop at the Central Lookout. There is another stop in front of the Spillway – It only takes place when the floodgates are opened to drain excess waterfrom
the reservoir. Restrictions: For safety, the minimum age is 14 years old and during this tour it is forbidden to wear shorts,skirts,slippers,sandals or heels.
