05 DAYS/ 04 NIGHTS

In the entire Brazilian Amazon there are more than 800 species of orchids, but more than 400 of them are in Roraima, and some are endemic in the Tepequém region, mainly the Rupícolas and Terrestrial that inhabit the rupestrian savannas of the plateau. In this package, we will visit places where we have the highest concentrations of them: in the region close to B. Vista, in Haras Cunhã Pucá, where there is a huge variety, and finally in Serra do Tepequém.

This itinerary will be accompanied by orchidophile Joaci Luz, who will also teach the Orchid Photography Workshop.

Joaci Luz is an agronomist, PhD in Plant Production, former researcher at Embrapa Roraima, manager of numerous research projects in the field of horticulture, medicinal and ornamental plants and author of 02 books on orchids in Roraima.

He has been working for 20 years as an amateur photographer, having held and participated in several exhibitions with different themes. He photographed all the species of orchids that make up the two books on the subject.

Seasons:

August and September: Sobralia granitic

November to December: Epidendrum sp., of different colors

Program:

1st day – … Boa Vista

Arrival, reception and transfer from the airport to the chosen Hotel

Overnight stay

2nd day – Boa Vista

Breakfast.

9:00 am – Workshop: Orchids of Roraima;

14:00 – Departure to visit the EMBRAPA nursery – to be confirmed, according to availability;

16:30 – Return to the hotel. Free night.

3rd day – Boa Vista/ Serra do Tepequém/ Cachoeira do Paiva

8:00  – Departure to Serra do Tepequém

11:00 – Arrival at Serra do Tepequém, accommodation at the inn, lunch.

14:00 – Visit to Cachoeira do Paiva.

17:00 – Return to the Pousada.

Dinner and overnight at the Pousada

4th day – Hike in the Serra do Tepequém Plateau /  Boa Vista

7:00 – Breakfast

7:30 – Walk on the Serra do Tepequém Plateau to observe orchids (duration of approximately 5 hours)

12:30 – Lunch

14:00 – Visit to the big well (stop for a bath);

16:00 – Return to Boa Vista (arrival scheduled for approximately 19:00).

Overnight  the chosen Hotel.

5th day – Boa Vista/ …
